Roppongi Ramen Bar

Hands down the best ramen in Charlotte. Look at the menu.

Like many great restaurants, my wife and I discovered this one accidentally.

Now it is a rainy weekday regular.

I recommend getting the oshinko, Shio ramen, and spicy dakgangjung korean fried chicken.

shio ramen with soft boiled egg, bok choy, select mushrooms

The staff are very attentive, the atmosphere is calm - not much more you could ask for.

Le's

If you're looking to try Vietnamese coffee (or tea), or just want a really good sandwich with fresh bread, this is your spot.

The backstory I have heard is this business kept a dying mall afloat, and ultimately got its own building when the mall failed.

Bahn mi at Le's, the #4

The bahn mi (read: tasty sandwiches) is excellent - I opt for #4, but #6 is a classic. You get the nice warm crunch of baguette, lightly pickled veggies, and savory meat. Yum!

Strong Vietnamese coffee

The coffee is strong, not bitter or overly sweet. The tea is the same way. There are too many places that get this wrong somehow. Not Le's.

OX2 Buns & Noodles

Returned to Chattanooga recently and discovered a new addition to the Asian restaurant scene!

Hand-pulled noodles

Hand pulled noodles, delicious steamed buns, and a lamb rougamo that contends for the best menu item.
